New Year, New Challenge

Hello!

I have decided that for the year of 2013 I am going to do my own 365 day challenge. I am not going to limit myself to a theme, if I do I'll struggle to take pictures fitting it and then get bored and disheartened and give up. So I shall just take a photo of whatever I feel like on that day. Then I'm going to make a scrapbook of my year with the photos. I think I might keep a diary too and write a short entry each day relating to the photo I took to help with the scrapbook so I can write little notes with each photo as it'll probably be every week or two that it is updated.

I'm also going to take a self portrait every day and make one of those time lapse videos and see how I've changed during the year.

Is anyone else doing something like this? Let me know if you are, it's always good to have the support and encouragement of others!

Last Minute New Year's Outfits

Hello there!

It's New Year's Eve! Does anyone have any fun and exciting plans for tonight?

Me, I have no terribly exciting plans whatsoever. Editing the photos I've taken with my new camera, printing my favourite photo of my boyfriend and myself to put into the purse he bought me for Christmas, and I'll likely be on FaceTime with my boyfriend too.

If you're like me and tend to leave picking your outfit to the last minute then this will hopefuly help and give you some ideas so you can quickly pick an outfit from the clothes you already own. I'll chose some staple items and suggest how you could wear them and style them.
I've also added links to some Polyvore sets I made suggesting what to wear with the piece.

The LBD (Little Black Dress)
A classic, simple and elegant. You probably have a black dress somewhere in your wardrobe. If you don't, then why not?! It's a little life saver, dress it down for a more casual event with flats and a cardigan or dress it up with killer heels and some statement jewellery. A simple black dress is so easy to play around with and really make your own with the help of your favourite acessories.

A Pair of Well Fitting Jeans
I believe that you can never go wrong with a good pair of jeans. You can wear them almost anywhere if you style them right. Wear with a nice blouse or pretty top and your favourite heels or flats. For a more formal occassion team your jeans with a blouse and a well tailored blazer or jacket. Flats or heels will work but I'd opt for heels.

A Knee Length Skirt
Team it with a pretty top or blouse in a complementary colour, black or white with coloured skirts and white or coloured with black skirts looks best I think, or be bold and try colour blocking with bright clashing colours - this can look really good if done well but if you're not sure then best to avoid! Look cute with flats and a cardigan or sexy with stilettos.

Well those are my three essentails and a couple of ways to style them. Have fun chosing (and wearing!) your outfit tonight!

What will you be wearing for New Year's?

The sets were made on Polyvore (www.polyvore.com). The clothes featured in these are not my own, they were sourced from Polyvore.

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas has got to be one of my favourte times of year, (beaten only by Hallowe'en), but it's not the presents I wait for all year - although I do wake up early in excitement for those! - I LOVE Christmas dinner. What's not to love about turkey and gammon, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, mash and gravy? And then there's the sprouts. Probably the most controversial veg of the season. Personally, I do like them.

But back to the pressies......
I have to say a HUGE thank you very much to my parents for my new camera! I absolutely love it and have been playing with it all day now. I'll be able to take decent photos now that I can share with you. And when I get a tripod I'll be able to do some OOTD (outfit of the day, for anyone who didn't know) posts.

This is it, my new camera :)

So what's your favourite present so far? And what's your view on brussel sprouts? Like or loathe?
I can't wait to hear from you :)

A very merry Christmas to you all!

Christmas!

Hello lovely readers!

I am so sorry for going and leaving you for so long. I was sick with the flu for a while and I had a maths exam last week. I haven't even looked at my laptop in about a month.

It's almost Christmas! Only 3 sleeps away! I am so excited for it. What about you? What are you getting for Christmas?

Merry Christmas to you all!

P.S. I promise I shall post again soon! I'll have more free time over the hols before I go back to school so I'll definitely be making the most of it.

Oh No, It's Monday Again...

Hi!

It's Monday again. Meaning I have to get up early to go to school and then when I come home I have homework to do. I do not like Mondays very much at all.
On the plus side, however, I do have my piano lesson on Mondays which I always enjoy, even though it can be challenging - but I like a challenge. I also have art class in school on a Monday morning which I enjoy too.
I guess Mondays aren't all that bad. The week has to start somewhere!

So what do you think about Mondays? Do you loathe them or do you not mind them at all? Is there anything particularly good or bad about your Monday?

The Author

I'm not really one for talking about myself but I couldn't really think of anything I could blog about right now. Bad start, I know. It's just I don't have anything I could do right now that I could blog about. I could tell you about my studying, but who wants to hear about studying? I was discussing my lack of post worthy ideas with my boyfriend and he suggested I write a post about myself seeing as I've just started the blog.
I have considered this idea. I do not like talking about myself, but it's much better than jumping right in with some heavy, controversial post when it's only my second post.
Do any of you lovely people really want to read about me? I'm not terribly exciting. Oh well, I'll try not to bore you and I'll leave out the very uninteresting and the unneccessary details.

My name is Paige but my boyfriend calls me his little ghost. I'm still at school, studying science, maths, art, English and French. I plan on going to university and getting a PhD in physics and then getting a job as an experimental physicist. I love listening to music and I play the piano. I really enjoy baking and I love the smell of freshly baked bread and cakes. I love to just sit and draw, even though I don't think I'm very good at drawing. I also love making things and my project for the upcoming summer is going to be to make a dress.
This blog is rather pretty looking, and pink. I am not a 'pink and pretty' kind of person. I nearly always wear jeans and t-shirts with converse or boots and I listen to alternative and rock music. I'm not really in the slightest girly. However, for some reason I like the look of this blog. I don't know why, maybe I like the change. Eventually I might change it to something which is more like everyday me, but until then I like the pink background.

I honestly cannot really think of anything else that I could say about myself.... But if you have any questions you would like to ask me then go ahead.
I'm off now to eat some chocolate and maybe paint my nails. What's your favourite type of chocolate?

Hello

Hi!

I just wanted to write a quick post to introduce the blog a little bit.
I'll probably be writing mostly about makeup (including nail art), food and crafts. Although at times I will probably drift to clothes, shoes and other things too. I guess it just depends on what sort of a mood I'm in.
I have a little bit of what some may call an addiction to nail polish (as in I love painting my nails). I own an awful lot of the stuff! I also love shoes, but then, what girl doesn't? I think little handmade things and crafty things are just wonderful and I do enjoy getting my hands dirty once in a while with a bit of DIY.

I suppose I should probably briefly explain the name of my blog seeing as 'The Little Ghost Blog' doesn't exactly relate to any of the topics I just mentioned. Without going into long (and probably boring) details, my boyfriend calls me his little ghost and this is my blog so I thought it would be nice to name it 'The Little Ghost Blog'.

My aim is really just to write a simple, down to earth blog that anyone can enjoy. I don't want to blog about lots of fancy expensive things much. I find bloggers who always talk about expensive designer things tend to alienate me a little and I can't relate to them at all.

I hope you enjoy my little blog filled with thoughts and ramblings!
Suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome.
